Dolph's Letter #81

Dear Sweetheart -

How is my honey today?

The sun is out for a change + it surely feels good.

Last night we went to the movies - first time in a week - there is such a thing as going too far for a movie - sit in the rain + cold - but it was clear last night + not too cold. And we really had a treat - Animal Kingdom - Ann Sheridan, Dennis Morgan, Alexis Smith, Jack Carson, Reginald Gardiner + Jane Wyman. It was really something for a change - an intelligent subject + neatly played - also a few laughs. If you get a chance see it.

Nothing much of anything going on.

I wonder how you are keeping yourself going? Hitler's death sure made us happy. Can't see how Doenitz can do anything to change the situation. And then when this war in Europe is over we'll see how we stand. Unfortunately - it's a lot harder for an officer to get out + I'm sure we can't dream even of it for some time. But maybe there might be a chance to get back to the U.S. - to you - + or a chance for occupation troops - who knows?

All we can do is pray to God, + I surely have him on my side. I have been so fortunate, believe me dear.

Among all the bull sessions about how we got hit - my story stands up as a testimony to God.

Please take good care of yourself sweet. I love you ardently + completely "You entirely possess me!"

Your devoted husband,
Dolph
