Dolph's Letter #84c

[Stationery header: "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God." — 1 Peter 3:18]

[Footer: "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.... Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" — Romans 5:8, Acts 16:31]

Dear Sweetheart -

This has been a banner day. Not only has Churchill announced that hostilities are officially over as of 1 minute past midnight; but I heard from you!

Yes! I received a pkg. postmarked 15 Feb. containing woolen gloves + leather gauntlets + a pair of wristlets. And a Shamrock. It was very sweet + thoughtful of you honey. Now I am just thirsting for a letter. Can't figure it out, but will just have to be patient.

Honey will you drink a glass of coca cola for me, + a black + white soda. This has really been a day for such refreshment - a real May day. These people just don't have such things.

Well I accomplished quite a bit of work - the athletic field is coming along fine.

I imagine you all are celebrating. It's very quiet here. No noise, no nothing, but the war is over + that's what counts.

Darling I love you so much. I hope you are well + taking good care of yourself.

Your devoted husband,
Dolph
