Dolph's Letter #32 (D) (I think)

Dear Sweetheart —

I am writing this to allay any of your fears which might have been aroused by a telegram from the War Dept's. (I don't know for sure whether I gave your home address in N.J. or 619) if they sent one, which I presume.

I received a scratch, believe me, in the underside of my left forearm. It's so slight I thought I could get it dressed at the aid station, but you know the story, they sent me on to the hospital where I don't expect to be for more than 2 or 3 days.

Suffice to say I was lucky, very lucky, + that's because the good Lord is paying attention to your prayers.

Don't worry about me dear — I am all right + shall watch out + take care of myself.

I love you very much dear. Please take good care of yourself — you are precious.

I love you

Your devoted husband,
Dolph

Please continue writing to Co. C — even tho I haven't received any mail yet.
