JEAN'S ONLY LETTER in collection. Working late on accounting, Admiral inspection coming. A male officer asked her for a date — she refused. Anxiously waiting to hear where Dolph will be transferred.

Henry Grady Hotel, Atlanta

[Note: This letter is from Jean to Dolph]

Happy Nineteenth Wedding Anniversary,

Guess who I'm celebrating it with? I was just bowled over when I received a phone call today from the Henry Grady Hotel. It was Daddy!!! He took a vacation via Washington to see some Senator about getting you home, and then took a bus - not to New York but by way of Atlanta - I was so amazed to hear his voice.

He came up to the office & took me to lunch. Stayed with Ethel all afternoon & took me to dinner tonight tonight. After dinner, we met Ruth Marcus - the girl in my office, & went to Temple. We're now in Daddy's room at the Henry Grady
