Dear Sweetheart,

Well at least there is this much definite. The jobs have been allocated and my job is a CAF 11. In dollars and cents it adds up to $5700 a year – and that is all inclusive. How does it strike you?

I am sure that the very fact that I went to Berlin and saw the people who handle the civilianization in itself influenced them although I didn't so much as intimate or say – make it tops or anything for that would have ruined everything. All I asked them to do was expedite the situation. The Captain who is head of this section has a rating of CAF 11 also. That you may be sure doesn't make him happy, and I rather think that he wont accept it. That I expect to know definitely in a day or two.

The papers allocating the jobs are leaving Berlin today and shall be here to-morrow or Sat. The next step will be the actual recommendation by the Col. here of us for the jobs.

Of course nothing is simple in the army nor definite for that matter till you have it in your hands. So – you may be sure I shall follow this thing all the way. I sure hope there shall be no more hitches, I have gone through plenty, believe me, in this whole matter.

Last evening I went to Radio Frankfurt for a concert of Johann Strauss music. Quite enjoyable. Enclosed is the program and my ticket. Also my ticket for a performance I saw at the Opera in Berlin – I can't remember whether it was for the ballet or Butterfly or the Tales. The invitation for the party I went to last Sunday evening is enclosed.

I hope you are feeling all right dear and being of good cheer. This whole situation is a darned shame but I am doing all I can to have us re-united just as soon as possible.

I love you honey. Love you so very very much. Please take good care of yourself. I L O V E Y O U.

Your devoted husband,

Dolph
