I've been resting a bit — just lying on my bed bunk & immediately a vision of you appears & your sweetness just pervades the entire atmosphere. Ergo everything palls & I am alone with you — then I am happy & feel good. See what you do to me. I love it.

I am with a rather nice group of officers. Of course we can be split up later — the Army being what it is — but these fellows are all right.

Saw a few of the last group of rookies I trained & they gave me a very nice greeting. Chatted with them a few minutes. Nice kids.

Glad Howie is going to Notre Dame — he certainly is getting an extensive...
