Waiting for Victory

Dolph's 26th birthday at the depot. Notes ironically it's also Hitler's birthday. Received birthday wishes from Jean.

Dolph's Letter #60

Dear Sweetheart.

How are you dear? Everything going along all right?

Went to the movies last night. Saw the Andrews Sisters in something or other. Unquestionably one of the worst pictures as I have ever seen, but really had to laugh at it — it was so bad it was funny.

Nothing much going on — still in the same place, so it's a quiet birthday for me. So now I am 26, + the dreams I have of us + for us are still vivid, paramount of which is our reunion. I love you so + that is what I am living for.

I dream of you — you are so lovely — + wonder how you are, that is my occupation. And how I want you.

Keep your chin up dear — we are one day nearer.

Your devoted husband,
Dolph
