Dolph's Letter #69

Dear Sweetheart —

Got my PX ration slip today so I got a tablet of paper, 2 bars of O'Henry (I'm fond of it) a cake of soap, a razor blades, 2 cigars + 2 decks of playing cards. That dear is all you can get, besides a few other toilet articles which I already have, but the quantities of that which I got are all I am allowed for a week. Cost me 37 francs — about 75 cents.

Nothing much going on — weather is still inclement, but will play a little bridge — been using a greasy deck too long.

How are you feeling dear? Everything coming along all right? It's so lonesome being apart. Especially when I very well know how thrilling it is when we are together.

Take good care of yourself honey. I love you.

Your devoted husband,
Dolph

Dolph's Letter #80

Dear Sweetheart -

How are you dear?

Thought you might like to know that these reports of Himmler offering unconditional surrender first to the U.S. + Britain + then rumors of offering it to all three of the allies has us all excited. I have a feeling Germany will give up this week. I'm ready.

Nothing much at all going on. The weather is still inclement but my new job - as Training Officer - keeps me busy. Busy - but not so that I can't think of my honey. Gee I love you so much dear + I sure hope you are well.

Mail - that's my immediate need, as long as we are apart.

Please take care of yourself. For you are everything to me.

Your devoted husband,
Dolph
