Somewhere
Dear Sweetheart —
Snowing again. Rather beautiful to see, but glad I'm inside.
My tour of duty is almost up — 1100. When I go back to my Company & keep busy down there.
Last night I got an idea about our future & am enclosing it. It's amazing, but I don't conjecture about what is ahead. Rather what our future together shall be. It looks so good I get a delicious feeling inside me. My wife —

A Lt. Col. Harrington was very nice to me. He came in while I was looking at a new pair of socks. I had just found one — size 13 — too large. I was lamenting the fact & he sympathized with me when I told him I couldn't get size 12 at Hqtrs & had to take 6 of the 13 or none. He then said he'd go down to the Quartermaster for me & get 6 pair of 12 & he'd take the 13's from me. That was very level. He came back & had socks with innersoles & rather double soles & cost twice as much as mine, but he refused to take any money. So I went down to QM & got 4 prs. of the same socks he had bought for me which would have made up the difference with the 6 prs. I gave him & a little more. When I tried to give them to him he wouldn't take them. Said he'd be able to get them more easily than me. Made me feel good.
Well I shall have to stop now — prepare for guard mount.
I love you.
Your devoted husband,
Dolph
P.S. You only need 06 air mail stamps now. If you could send me a booklet of stamps — say once a week I'd appreciate that.
