Just spoke to Jean by phone — "wonderful to hear your voice." Thrilled she's cooking French fries and knitting wristlets. Learning Russian with a friend.

Dear Sweetheart —

Just spoke to you & believe me it was wonderful to hear your voice.

I am very glad you have my new address, it should expedite the mail. And I think your idea of numbering the letters is good — so I wrote you a letter today before I phoned. This is —

You know, you are cute. The way you say things even as much as what you say thrills me. French Fried Potatoes — oh boy. Be sure & get the grease off by putting them on brown paper after — you cooked. It seems true that it's going to be a big job to have the potatoes come out not greasy, but that's the test, I guess. And if you do it — what else can't be but good.

And you are really knitting the wristlets. Boy what a wife I have.

Got a big kick out of the idea that you are starting to take some Elementary Russian course. Don't go too far & resent it through. And the fact that you are doing it with a friend is nice.

Look dear — we both have to keep busy don't we?

I want you to that the moments of happiness which we two have shared are the only moments which I have ever known so far — & my future moments of happiness will be only when we are together again. I look forward so ardently to that time & know that my wife is the only person in this whole world with whom I could truly be happy.

You are my life.

Your devoted husband,
Dolph
