I hope you received my telegram on time. I sent it 1 Nov.

You know honey, I have been sending you gifts right along – some I have sent 4th class & some 1st. But the truth of the matter is – I have kind of lost track of the whats & whens. I'd rather believe I sent your Xmas & birthday gift in one pkg. Anyway – for your birthday I sent Shocking (Schiaparelli) perfume, lipstick & powder. For Xmas – a pair of gloves & a scarf. Or – the other way round. In any event I sure hope you got it.

I am sorry we are not together to celebrate your birthday the way it should.

I love you so much dearest, & miss you more & more each day.

I hope you will keep your chin up, & it shan't be too long when we shall be one again. I love you so much.
