Air Mail Stationery — France Dolph's Letter #41

Dear Sweetheart —

Went to the Doc yesterday — no more bandage — all right come back to him the 1st of April.

This morning had something I haven't had since coming over — fresh eggs. 2 of them. Sure tasted good, cause you get tired of those powdered eggs. The change was good.

The weather is still not nice, but the war news is encouraging. If only this is the end of this war.

Last night they had another U.S.O. here — not much good, still enjoyable.

Then played a little bridge. One of the fellows is quite a player — made me realize how much about the game I don't know.

Also yesterday I picked up a tube of lipstick made in Paris for you, at the PX. Thought you might like it, but more importantly dear — I think of you so constantly — you are the only one who stands out as reality in this situation — Jean Jean Jean — that's all the time for me. I derive very little pleasure or enjoyment from the company I am with — crude — but I get along without "profaning" myself knowing that it is my pride of & in you & pride of myself which keep me going & maintaining my standards.

I love you so much dear. And during my stay here, I didn't tell you before, I made something for you at the Craft shop. Didn't do all of it you may be sure, but I did most of the work — didn't do the lettering nor the assembling (which wasn't good) but I think you will like it. I love you so very much dear.

I hope you are well & taking good care of yourself.

Love, Dolph
