Dolph's Letter #84a

Dear Sweetheart -

What a week this has been - Mussolini, Hitler + Goebbels dead, Berlin "Kaputt", the unconditional surrender in Italy, Northern Germany, Denmark, Holland, Austria + now today the commander of the Bohemia Moravia pocket is considering surrender terms. Boy oh boy.

We are all very excited as is natural. Soon, very soon the complete capitulation of the Germans will be an established fact.

I haven't been doing too much sweet, though I have been kept busy, as the Captain in charge has been ill.

Gee honey it's almost all over here.

Love you dear. I love you so much + am so anxious that you are well. It must be tough as all 'getout' for you, but all we can do is be patient - how I hate that word patient. How can we be patient when we love each other so much, + all we want to do is live together. Still what else can we do?

I love you.

Your devoted husband,
Dolph.
